about

We wrote this song about anxiety, depression, and various other mental illnesses. We want people to know there is a light in that overwhelming darkness that they may feel, and there is hope. Never give up, because things will get better.

lyrics

To see through these eyes would be a surprise to you
Oh, the things that I’ve been through.

I know my paper heart’s been ripped apart
all of my fingers have paper-cuts

I tried to put it back together,
in the harshest of weather,
only to find since day one
I’ve known I’d once again see the sun

Though I’ve been beaten and scarred,
no one will ever know how hard
it is to travel this far
barefoot and covered in scars.
You can’t walk a mile in my shoes, (in my shoes)
Because I’m not quite as blessed as you. (blessed as you)
You would have to walk a mile in my skin,
too bad you wouldn’t survive it.
You would start to go insane.
Sanity is something I can’t claim.
I can’t escape my own thoughts.
I don’t know if this is real or not.

Welcome to the fight I’ve always fought. GO!
Your darkest of times
Will shed the brightest of lights
unto who you can be.
I know it’s the furthest from easy.

I don’t know if this is real or not

Despite what others may say, they will never understand your pain,

and neither could I (neither could I)
But either way survive another day that pours rain, (that pours rain)
The sun will rise, (the sun will rise) pain won’t remain. (it won’t remain)
You’ve got another day, another chance to live.

Learn that life is a gift, you can’t give up on it!
